Father Justin Pârvu
Born on February 10, 1918, in the village of Poiana Largului, Neamț County, he wore the monastic race in 1936, at the Durau Hermitage, being ordained a priest at the age of 22. He participated with the 4th Mountain Hunters Division in the battles of World War II, reaching as far as Don. After leaving the hearth, he attended the Roman seminary, graduating in 1945, when he was arrested and politically sentenced to 12 years in prison, the sentence being extended until 1964, because he did not give up his faith. After his release from prison, Father Justin served as a monk at the Secu and Bistrita Monasteries. In 1992, the construction started at the Petru Vodă Monastery, a unique monastery in Romania, being dedicated to the martyrs from the communist prisons.
